
Morgan Jones is a partner in the firm’s Transactions and the Cybersecurity/Data Privacy Groups, and a member of the Technology group. He represents companies through all stages of the technology lifecycle, from structuring, formation, financing, licensing, AI compliance, and data privacy matters through exit. Morgan works closely with companies to launch and develop products, scale sales, acquire technology assets, draft a wide variety of commercial agreements, negotiate customer transactions, and strategic partnerships. He also advises companies on best practices for product development where there is little existing regulation and high potential liability, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence.
As a certified information privacy professional (CIPP) and a privacy law specialist (PLS), he frequently advises companies on legal and operational compliance with various privacy laws on a global level, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other state and industry specific privacy laws. Morgan uses this knowledge to regularly guide companies in responding to data security incidents, breaches, and cyberattacks and interacting with regulators as needed.

EDX Medical Group, a developer of innovative digital diagnostic products and services for the personalised treatment for cancer, heart disease and infectious diseases, on its share-for-share acquisition of Oxford-based Hutano Diagnostics, a developer of testing devices suitable for qualitative and quantitative assessment of single and multiple compounds.

Morgan Creek Digital as lead investor in a $400 million investment into Gemini, a cryptocurrency exchange platform providing cryptocurrency purchase, custody and trading services, in addition to a variety of lending, credit, and NFT products, at a $7.1 billion valuation.
MayStreet in its acquisition of technology assets from Thesys Technologies, including a U.S. government contract to supply market data for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Market Information Data Analytics System (MIDAS).
