Litigation & Arbitration partners Michael Bowe and Lauren Tabaksblat co-authored, “Can You See Me Now? Lessons Learned From Virtual Proceedings,” for the New York Law Journal.
“No one ever went to law school to be a zoom trial lawyer,” said a good friend and oft co-trial counsel when asked about his thoughts on the subject. Of course, he was right. But as the saying goes, “it is not about us” trial lawyers. It is about our clients and the courts who hear their cases.
The article focuses on the pair’s experiences in virtual depositions, arguments, and trials, outlining the challenges they encountered and offer solutions that others can apply. The article further discusses that although remote trials may not be ideal, as certain aspects can’t be replicated virtually, there may be some benefits to be gleaned.
