Partner Jane Colston published an article in the Solicitors Journal on the importance of diversity in strengthening the rule of law. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Director Renauld Clarke contributed to the article.
In the Jan. 31 article, entitled “What’s diversity got to do with the rule of law,” Colston wrote, “Broadening access to the legal profession for underrepresented populations will only strengthen the foundational principles of equality under the law and access to justice for all. If we can make the profession more accessible and diverse, then more people will see themselves reflected in it and believe in the legal system’s ability to protect and serve them.”
Colston’s article follows on from the Nov. 25 Firm-hosted event, “Future Thinking and Why Books Remain Irresistible,” where Lord Burnett of Maldon, the most senior judge in England and Wales, Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd, and Professor Richard Susskind OBE spoke about access to justice, diversity, and launched the Firm-sponsored AI essay competition.
