Brown Rudnick Partner and Litigation & Arbitration Practice Group Leader Neill Shrimpton and Associate Jessica Lee co-authored “Post-Brexit Prospects: London as a Dispute Resolution Centre.” The article was published in the Legal Business Disputes Yearbook 2021. Neill and Jessica discuss the effects of Brexit on London’s status as a key dispute resolution centre in Europe and the English legal system, in particular on the English courts, choice of law, and enforcement of judgements.
Neill practises in all areas of commercial litigation and arbitration. He has represented clients in disputes in all divisions of the High Court, the Court of Appeal and the Privy Council, and pursuant to the rules of many arbitration institutions. He has extensive off-shore experience, in particular in the British Virgin Islands and the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal. He has also acted for parties in arbitrations pursuant to the LCIA and ICC Rules.
Jessica has broad experience in complex and high value commercial litigation and international arbitration with particular experience in civil fraud, company and shareholder disputes, financial services, and contract and tort disputes. She has acted on numerous complex civil fraud cases involving freezing, proprietary, and disclosure injunctions, and has recent experience in delivery up injunctions.
