Biography

Tobias Plowman is an associate in the firm’s International Transactions Practice Group. Toby has experience advising clients on a wide variety of transactional matters, including representing private equity funds in relation to acquisitions and disposals in the hospitality and retail sectors, alternative asset classes, and litigation funding.

Legal 500 named Toby a “Recommended Lawyer” for Venture Capital. Clients describe him as a “great lawyer. Works hard and always delivers.”

Prior to joining Brown Rudnick, Toby was a trainee solicitor with the firm. Previously, Toby worked as an associate for a major global accounting firm.

Represented Queensgate Investments on a $800 million global refinancing of Generator Hostels involving 13 jurisdictions worldwide.

Acting for RealVNC, a leading provider of remote access software, on its sale to Livingbridge, mid-market private equity investors.

Represented Caelum Capital on its acquisition of a majority stake in Scotch whisky maker Compass Box.

Acting for Clarks, the shoe retailer, on (i) the £100 million investment by LionRock Capital for a majority stake in the target Clarks entity, and (ii) associated £800 million restructuring implemented via a CVA.

Represented Libertine, a developer of Linear Generator technology, on its £9 million initial public offering.
